Bellingham’s beer boom is being felt everywhere. Look no further than our friends to the north in Blaine. Atwood Ales has finally opened its doors to Whatcom County.

Atwood, a 2 barrel system, located on head brewer Josh’s 100 year old family farm, will be focusing mainly on open session beers, fermentation, saisons, kettle sour beers. They want to offer something different than what they are seeing in much of the west coast, which are big hopped beers. Atwood will be growing many of the ingredients that they use in their beer, which puts them squarely in the growing ranks of farmhouse breweries.

Atwood will mainly be focused on 750ml beers. Last weekend they were at the Bellingham Farmers Market and were selling their newly bottled beers.

I’m excited to see what Atwood brings to the regional craft beer scene! More on them soon!

Follow them on Facebook for updates.
